Herb gardening tasks can be done very easily. You have to be well- informed about the herbs, and its requirement for growing them such as soil, watering needs, pet problems, suitability of container etc. The most exciting aspect of herb gardening is that is can be easily planned and maintained.

There are many different types of herbs which can be grown easily and are also very popular. They include herbs such as Basil, Parsley, Mint and Sage. Herbs are very beneficial plants as they provide us medicines, flavors for food and some fantastic fragrances. They can be grown in many different ways.

These plants can be grown indoors also. Herb gardening begins with preparing the soil for the garden. The soil basically required for herbs are acidic soil. The Ph of the soil should range from 6.3 to 6.8.  The soil should be well drained and moderately fertile. They can be grown from the seeds. These seeds can be purchased from a nursery.  They also can be grown in containers.

Pruning and division are helpful for the propagation of certain herbs.  The harvesting of your herbs depends on the factors such as the intended use of the herb. While designing herb garden, you have to take into consideration factors such as purpose of your garden, the climate and soil suitable for the garden.

You can also consider any particular theme for your garden and plan a design accordingly. The different themes could be either a kitchen garden, formal herb garden or planted in a flower garden. Research and collect information about the herbs and useful information about herb gardening.

Your garden should be enclosed either partially or completely. This would allow you to plan for the vertical planting space for the plant and also hold the aroma of the herbs grown in your garden.
